The End of The Quarter

Technology and Lively hood Education for me, has changed every year and it only gets better and better. The lessons have become complex, the teachers are very, very different from the teachers of the past year and just the whole atmosphere of the subject and how the students react to it has greatly changed this year. Yes, we could say that some students aren’t interested in the subject but the students who really listen to the topics religiously have learned a lot from the subject. Ever since my first year, this year of TLE has been the best not only because of the teachers, but also because of the lessons tackled to us. We first started learning programming; it was very difficult and confusing at first but when you get used to the formulas and the patterns, it will be apiece of cake. These topics will test students’ mental intelligence and basic mathematical skills. This will help us in our future endeavors that involve programming objects especially now with the evolving technology. ...

ISNHS; 117th Foundation Day

Foundation Day is a once a year event that students are really excited for. It is the anniversary of a school so for sure it will be a blast because of the activities for the students and teachers and of course there will be a lot of booths. But in reality, some schools don't really have that festive atmosphere when it is foundation day. I'm not saying that our school is one of them, but it seems like that.  Many of us expecting a lot from the event especially to those students who is experiencing it for the first time, and as usual many was disappointed. I'm not surprised because it was always like that. It is just the field demo that give us at least a little excitement. It was an annual activity of our school every foundation day that all grade levels compete to each other. Different category for girls and for boys. But the program was very long that we performed at the middle of . And there was no booths at all for us students to enjoy and have something to do while ...

My Dream, My Future

Everyone has dreams and goals in life. Weather they be to become an engineer and build their own three story house , or be the most known lawyer in town , or a doctor that serve for free and maybe the most paid basketball player of the league . And of course I also have dreams for the future just like everyone else. And I will do whatever it takes to achieve it. Over my life time I would like to achieve many things but there are three main things I would like to accomplish; to be a triumphant person, help my loving parents and most especially to serve my fellows. Now that I'm already graduating from my high school life, I am now at the crossroads where I have to make decisions, specifically at my choice of track in senior high school, course in the college and at the same time, my profession. And it is to become a police. And I know I can do it because I want to do it and also I want my hardworking and loving parents to have something to make them feel so proud of me. I want to r...

Pride of Ilocano Culture

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.  Kannawidan is the biggest event in Ilocos Sur, and Vigan starts the festivities as early as January 28. The highlight every year is the Street Dancing and Dance Show Down . It ended with a blast as the twenty two lively and vibrant groups from the different towns compete. Each performance featured their respective One Town One Product (OTOP) and portrayed their culture, values, tradition, main products and tourist spots of their municipality. The town was filled with a festive atmosphere as the crowd yells for their own bet while the contingents performed gracefully and energetic in the tune of kannawidan song with their multi-colored costumes. And ofcourse the “Partuat ken Patanor” is always prese...

It Starts With Me

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” — Leo Tolstoy . Everyone has an opinion on what is wrong with the world, yet few will do the work to improve their own lives. If you want to change reality start with yourself first and attend to your own personal development. In doing so, problems give way to solutions and no longer affect you. There is one person you will have with you your entire life. One whom, if you love, will always reciprocate. One that needs your love more than anyone else. And that person is you. When you love yourself, you will find it easier to love others and the world around you. And they in turn will find it easier to love you. It's also important to let your true self shine, and to share your true gifts with the world. The beauty that dwells in your mind and that comes from your unique perspective on life needs to be heard. You will suffer criticism. But their opinions don’t matter, because you have to be you. By being ...

New Me

Each and every year, the phrase ‘New year, new me’ sweeps social media. And every January, I see an influx of people admitting they’ve failed their resolutions just a few days in.  Some promised to quit smoking, stop eating unhealthy foods and go on a diet, to study harder and to go workout at gym. But after a week or a month, you're back at smoking again, eating a lot of junk foods, playing with your gadgets instead of studying and made excuses not to go to the gym. Why? Because it seems silly to give yourself a time limit to change. It piles on pressure to start right away and make drastic decisions. Because let’s face it, most of us have thought ‘What’s the point?’ when breaking one so early on. So let’s stop it with the resolutions, and focus on bettering ourselves in the long-run, not just when the date on the calendar fits. Give yourself time to focus on what you want for yourself. Think about how you’re going to go about things.  Knowing that you’re not forcing ...
