War and peace are the two natural instincts of man. It is really a big problem that is getting bigger and bigger. Because man resorts to war to solve some problem or the other but when no solution is in sight, he yearns for peace. Until The United Nations came into being in 1945, following the devastation of the Second World War, with one central mission: the maintenance of international peace and security. The main object in establishing this new body was to save the succeeding generations from the scourge of war which had brought untold sorrow and misery to mankind during the two World Wars. The Charter came into force on 24th October, 1945.
